Anand Ashram’s 35th Foundation Day celebration was held on Tuesday, 14 January 2025 at the One Earth School Hall, which is one of the wings of the UN-affiliated Anand Ashram Foundation.
The celebration at One Earth School included a variety of activities such as a traditional pendet dance performance, a screening of the Anand Ashram profile video, the ceremonial cutting of the tumpeng (a traditional cone-shaped rice platter), offering of songs by each class, drawing and colouring competitions with the theme of Global Harmony, and classroom cleaning activities with homeroom teachers.
The tumpeng cutting ceremony was represented by the principals of the Early Childhood Education (PAUD), Elementary School (SD), Junior High School (SMP), and PKBM (High School Equivalency) and Advisor of the Anand Krishna Education Foundation. The tumpeng symbolises glory, good communication, blessings, and harmony.
Each class, from Preschool to Grade 6, enlivened the celebration by singing cheerful and soul-refreshing songs inspired by human values. Junior High School students from Grades 7 to 9 collaborated to create a special song to commemorate the 35th Foundation Day of Anand Ashram.
Senior High School students performed a short musical drama that addressed the issue of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and its psychological impact. The musical drama aligned with the theme of the 35th Foundation of Anand Ashram: Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, & Psychological Youth Challenges 2025 & Beyond (Cultural and Spiritual Solutions). The performance concluded with a song and dance, delivering the message that humans must adapt to the rapid changes happening today and that the younger generation must develop the ability to discern between what is right and what is not.
