Our Founder – Swami Anand Krishna
Proud of his cultural roots from the Sindhu, Indus or Hindia civilization, Anand Krishna was born in Indonesia, which was already predicted to be his Karma Bhumi (place where he will work) by Shuka Nadi (an ancient scripture by Rsi Shuka).
Upon meeting the young Krishna, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the former first President of India once said, “This child is not an ordinary child.” That prophecy came true. Rising tall like the legendary Meru Mountain, Anand Krishna never wavered from the life path he chose, despite facing numerous obstacles and turbulences along the way.
Besides the Anand Ashram Organization (affiliated with the United Nations) as its mother organization, Anand Krishna has also inspired a number of other social and educational institutes.
The former fourth President of Indonesia, K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid, endorsed his contribution by declaring, “If we want to attain peace, then we must hear what Anand Krishna is saying’’.
Over the past 20 years, Anand Krishna has the worthy heritage of having authored 170 book titles whereby his wise words have been shared through 1.5 million copies. The fact that people from various belief backgrounds choose to attend his seminars and meditation session is further evidence of the realization on his vision of “One Earth, One Sky, One Humankind”.
Education to Anand Krishna, is for the purpose of “bringing out the best in every child”, which is their humanity. The end result of an education is not just to give birth to job seekers. Education is also not only about teaching children how to feed themselves in the future, but to direct them to live in line with humanity, to live as dignified human beings. Education is for Life – as it enables us all to live fully and celebrate every aspect of it.
